Archery
Welcome to the University of Galway Archery Club! This year,
we have not only become the strongest university club in the country in terms
of performance, but have developed excellent coaching and support structures to
introduce newcomers to the sport through the club.
We are a target archery club affiliated with Archery Ireland
and primarily shoot 18m indoors. We regularly compete in intervarsity and
national competitions at the weekends.
Interested in joining?
The beginner course is now open for the 24/25 academic year! To sign up please fill out the form below. You will learn the parts of the bow, how to set it up, and
how to shoot safely. We teach barebow, Olympic recurve, and compound to
beginners in the club and we are extremely proud to have produced archers that
have gone on to represent Ireland on the international stage.
A few key points:
- The beginner course runs for 3 weeks and costs €30.
- Once
you've signed up using the Beginner Form, we'll send you a confirmation
email if you get a spot, which will include the payment link and a
quick e-learning course to complete before your first session.
- Spaces
are limited, but if you don't make this one, don't worry - we have more
training sessions and events lined up throughout the year.
- Beginner training slots are either Wednesdays 4-5pm or 5-6pm
