Last month UGBC flew over to London to compete at London Metropolitan Regatta held at Eton Dorney Lake, the venue for the 2012 Olympic Games. With a squad of over 30 athletes, UGBC competed in over 10 different boat classes. With 3 wins across the weekend, UGBC was the only Irish club to claim victory in any event. Last weekend, our swimming club traveled to Limerick for the much-anticipated Gerry Ryan Memorial Gala, a three-day-long competition marking the first long-course event of the year. The gala brought together swimmers from all over Munster and Connacht, and we are proud to say our club left a lasting impression both in and out of the pool.It was a weekend of long days, hard work, and determination as our swimmers tackled challenging events and fiercely competitive heats.
