Long Description:
2025/2026 Season in progress….
Semester one has been very successful, with both teams ready to fight hard again in semester 2.
Men’s
Our men's team was hugely successful in the SSI league, winning the final in TUD Tallaght on the 28th of November against TUD.

The men's team did us proud at Intervarsities, hosted by UL in early November, just missing out on a spot in the semi-finals after losing to DCU in the quarter-final of the Cup.

Women’s
Our women's team went the whole way to the SSI finals undefeated in the round stages before just losing out to Trinity in the third set of the Final in TUD.

Our Women's Team also performed very well in Intervarsities in Limerick, making it all the way to the semi-finals of the Cup, where they faced DCU and narrowly missed out on a place in the finals.

2024/2025 Season
Last season was a huge and successful season for both our Men’s and Women’s Advanced teams.
Men’s
Our Men’s Team won the Irish Intervarsity tournament hosted by SETU Carlow, with many of our players earning titles to reward their huge efforts in leading the team to success: Peter McGlynn Wing of the Tournament, Zane Grossinger Setter of the Tournament, Walid Kanouni Middle of the Tournament, and Benedikt Licht with MVP of the Tournament
The men also had a great season in the Student Sport Ireland competitions, making it to the semi-finals in semester 1 and winning the Semester 2 League
Women’s
Our Women’s team also had a great Intervarsity campaign last season earning a spot as one of the top 5 teams fighting for the Cup!
In the Student Sport Ireland League the Women’s team made a huge effort, making it all the way to the Semi-Finals in both semesters, defeated both times by Trinity College, who would go on to win the Finals.
Development Teams
Last season saw us adding some new teams to our Club! Coached and led by Eoin Kinsella and Amy O'Sullivan the club now has two development teams. These new players got the chance to train together over the year with challenge matches against ATU Galway, ATU Sligo, and finally finished the season by putting their new skills to the test at Munster Cup, hosted by UCC Volleyball Club.
Social Events
The club isn’t always all about playing volleyball!

We have many different levels of training, to cater for all different skill levels, from complete beginners picking up a ball for the first time, to players who have competed internationally representing their country!
Our beginners team train from 6:30 to 8pm on a Wednesday. This training is targeted at members who have never played before, or maybe played a long time ago and need a refresher on the basic skills! This training focuses on learning the different skills used in volleyball and the rules of the game. It's a great session for learning something new, getting some exercise in, and making some new friends!
Our social sessions run from 5 - 6:15pm on a Wednesday. These sessions are light-hearted and fun, with a little competitive element for everyone to show off their skills! Social sessions focus on letting players take a break from drills and just play against each other in fun, short matches. It gets players used to playing games, while meeting new people and making friends along the way. It is a more relaxed session for those who don't necessarily want to compete or commit to an actual team, but still want to play with their friends.
Our development sessions run from 7 - 8:45am on a Monday morning, and 5 - 6:30pm on a Wednesday. Development trainings are excellent sessions for those who want to develop their skills, compete against other colleges and club teams in fun but challenging matches, and potentially move up to the advanced team. The development teams play against other colleges development teams, and Division 3 club teams, in challenge matches. The development teams are very social and players find some of their best friends on these teams, often going for breakfast after Monday morning trainings together, and going on nights out as a team.
Our advanced teams have a mixed training from 5 - 6pm on a Tuesday, women's training from 6:15 - 7:15 on a Wednesday and from 5 - 6:45pm on a Friday, and men's training from 7:15 - 9pm on a Wednesday and 6:45 - 7:45 on a Friday. The advanced teams compete in the Intervarsities tournament every year, as well as the SSI league both semesters. Our advanced teams also avail of the high performance gym, led by Sean, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8pm-9pm.
