Last season was a huge and successful season for both our Men’s and Women’s Advanced teams.
Our Men’s Team won the Irish Intervarsity tournament hosted by the University of Galway:
Following their win in the Irish Intervarsities the Men’s team were invited to compete at the British Universities and College Sports (BUCS) Student Cup Finals in Norwich:
The men also had a great season in the Student Sport Ireland competitions, making it to the finals in both semesters and winning the Semester 1 League:
Our Women’s team also had a great Intervarsity campaign last season reaching the Cup Semi-Finals!
In the Student Sport Ireland League the Women’s team came second in Semester 1, making it an all Galway finals day and reached the semi-finals in Semester 2:
Last season saw us adding some new teams to our Club! Coached and led by Eoin Kinsella the club now has two development teams. These new players got the chance to train together over semester two and finished the season by putting their new skills to the test at Munster Cup, hosted by UCC Volleyball Club.
The club isn’t always all about playing volleyball!

Since being first established in 1976 University of Galway Volleyball Club have played to a high standard. Our team has included many players who have represented Ireland internationally, including our Head Coach Luke Uniake, Assistant Coach Jerry Obiekwe and Men's Team Captain Peter McGlynn. We have always strived to bring the best out of our players, and this is a tradition that we aim to carry forward!
