The annual College varsities event was hosted by DCU Sub-Aqua Club this year. At the University of Galway sub-aqua Clubs’ home Turf dive site, Killary Fjord. With a fantastic Day of diving and two nights spent in Killary Adventure Co. the (unofficial UGATUG SAC) University of Galway Sub-Aqua Club brought home the win this year with over double the amount of point than the runner up on second place.

As diving is an extreme sport and more leisurely than competitive, varsities run a little different for the sport. This year 5 college clubs met at Killary Fjord, Rossroe Pier, and battled it out with some fun games (in-water Tug of War) and otherwise diving related competitions, like the photo competition.

It was all fun and games at the surface but the University of Galway and ATU Galway Students, Alumni and Staff that joined us where full of enthusiasm and were Ice cold in annihilating the competition. The Buzz was there, the craic was had and aside from standing our ground we all had a beautiful weekend with lots of bonding and late night Karaoke.
