Freestyle

Friday 28th of February, 10am-6pm

Clare River, Tuam

The competitors and volunteers all got out to Tuam by 8 O’clock on Friday, the event Gazebos were set up and the judges and scribes were in position for the starting time at 10. Heats of 6 paddlers would go out in a ten minute block and they would each get multiple turns to do their own freestyle routine in the hole in the river and showcase great freestyle skill and party moves. Despite the weak flow, everyone had fun and gave it their all. All was finished by 6pm after the expert finals had taken place but unfortunately none of our paddlers were competing in that this year.

Whitewater

Saturday 1st of March, 9am-4pm

Boluisce River, Spideal

Each competitor was in Spideal by 8:30 for their own registration and for safety teams to get on the river for racers to come down. A shuttle went up and down the Boluisce for people who had to do multiple runs or for people who had to get on safety and then do their race afterwards. After all racers had finished their races the team races were then completed afterwards but I didn’t have access to the results :/
